Behavioral Styles
Behavioral choices children make during the Interactive Adventure reveal that they are stronger in one or two of the animal strengths. Each child is unique and often possesses some of each behavior style, but one or two will dominate the child’s behavior inventory.

Lion
Lions tend to be…
Strong, assertive, take-charge people. These kids are the ones who let their parents live at home!

Golden Retriever
Retrievers tend to be…
Very understanding and compassionate… Great team players. they’re the ones who want everyone to feel close and connected.

Beaver
Beavers tend to be…
Very detail oriented. they’re essential to invite to parties because they’re the only ones who remember to bring the food!

Otter
Otters tend to be…
Fun loving and very verbal. they love groups, activities, and especially getting to “Yak, yak, yak!”

Behavioral Blends
It is important to note emphatically that we are not labelling children or ‘boxing them in’ to a particular behavioral style.
A moderating influence in Lion children’s behavioral style is a healthy dose of otter or golden retriever strengths adding a blend of optimism, fun, compassion and loyalty. High Lion and Beaver strength can produce a very focused leader who loves to do it ‘by the book.’
Beaver/Golden Retriever is a behavioral style blend attracted to Lion/Otter blends. Wow – all the strengths are covered in this match; however, the Lion/Otter is so time-conscious that it is easy to lose patience with their mate and make all the decisions. The Golden Retriever, eager to please will often not protest.
Otter/Beaver combinations result in a fun-loving, organized individual whose energy level and need for organization can keep them working overtime. However, need for fun and fellowship soon shows its head and re-charges the batteries of this character!
These wonderful combinations cover ‘all the bases’ if we are able to recognize, respect, appreciate and allow each one to shine. This requires a spirit of loving humility that God will give to each one who asks.
